Connecticon 2006

Well, once again I had the pleasure of spending a weekend up in Hartford ( not East Hartford where we got lost ) at Connecticon. I haven’t gone to that many cons, but in regards to the ones I’ve been to, this is my favorite one.

My booth was placed at the far end of the already lost artist alley instead of the dealer’s room like last year. At first, I wasn’t too thrilled about being so out of reach, but in the long run it really worked out.

First of all, I sold out of all the books! I only printed fifty to test the water on sales, but by early Sunday afternoon I was selling the last one. After I make a few more tweeks for the second batch, I’ll add the link so you can pick on up online.
Second of all, being in the Artist’s Colony gave me the opportunity to meet some really humble new people. To the left of me was Sean Wang, the artist/writer of Runners. He’s one of those guys who “oozes” of talent, yet was so he was so relaxed about it. Make sure you check out his book if you liked Firefly or Star Wars. To my right was Clay from the webcomic Rob & Elliot. Even though he’s a much larger webcomic than I, he also was really polite and very humble to everybody. I got a really cool T-Shirt from him too. Oh, and I wanted to thank Dave from Chugworth Academy for pop’n by the booth occasionally to check up on me and for the free poster.

Finally I met up with some pod cast guys. The first were the guys from Secret Identity Podcast who were nice enough to interview me for one of their shows. The other were two “fine gentlemen” Daku, and Phil from Digital Strips. Once again I got to hang out with them after the con and we had a great time. They did a quick interview with me as well, so make sure you check them out.

Alright, that’s a short recap, but I need rest.
